Numbering an Arabic document needs two decisions a generic tool often gets wrong: which numerals to use, and which side of the page the number sits on in a right-to-left layout.
Step by step
- Open the Page numbers tool and add your PDF.
- Choose the position — for Arabic documents the outer edge usually reads best.
- Pick the starting number if the front matter should not be counted.
- Apply and download.
Worth knowing
If the document already has numbers printed inside the scanned image, the new ones will sit on top of them. Crop or cover the old ones first, or place the new numbers in a different corner.
